Come and join the members of the Rockwall County Republican Men’s Club for their monthly club meeting via the virtual meeting platform ZOOM.

The Republican Men’s Club is pleased to have their guest speaker Mr. Keven Ellis from Lufkin. Mr. Ellis is the District 9 representative on the 15 member State Board of Education (SBOE), where he also currently serves as Chair. His talk will outline the responsibilities of the State Board of Education and he will also answer questions.

Mr. Ellis was first elected to the SBOE for a four-year term of office in November 2016 and represents the 31 Northeast Texas counties that comprise District 9. He is the Republican Nominee on this November’s General Election Ballot as well. Ellis is a member of the board’s Committee on School Initiatives, which oversees agenda items on topics such as charter schools, SBOE certification rules and school board member training.

He is actively involved in his community, serving with local boards, including the Lufkin Host Lions Club, President of Angelina County Benefit Rodeo, and chairman of Small Business Council for Angelina County Chamber of Commerce. Prior to serving on the SBOE, Mr. Ellis served four years on the Lufkin ISD Board of Trustees.

Ellis attended Western Washington University, obtained his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Texas Chiropractic College, and has operated Ellis Chiropractic since 1998.

Ellis and his wife, Shelli, have three children, Katherine, Jacob and John.
